Greg Gordon no Longer Part of UAB Basketball Team

By Steve Irvine

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA - January 4, 2025

Greg Gordon has left the UAB men’s basketball team for personal reasons. Gordon was in his first season with the Blazers.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Chicago native played in seven games this season, averaging 3.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. His best game came against Southeastern Louisiana when he scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds in 19 minutes. He missed the team’s trip to play in the Paradise Jam and hasn’t played since Dec. 6 against Prairie View.

It’s the second consecutive year that Gordon didn’t finish the season. He played in 24 games last season at Iona before leaving the team late in conference play. He led Iona in scoring (16 ppg) and rebounds (7.3 rpg). Gordon was a two-time junior college All-American at Dyersburg State Community College in Tennessee.
