UAB Football Signee Update and Roster Status

By Steve Irvine

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA - February 7, 2025

The UAB football program added five signees on the first day of the February signing period. The Blazers now have 31 signees since early December.

Wednesday’s additions were offensive linemen Aidan Platt of Auburn and Donovan Lawrence of Dacula, Georgia, wide receiver CD Gill of Saraland High tight end Aaron Mattingly from Green Hill High in Mount Juliet, Tennessee and defensive end James Steel of Caravel Academy in Bear, Delaware.

Following is a look at the signees and a position-by-position breakdown of what the UAB football roster looks like at this point. The breakdown includes the signees but they won’t be listed on the official roster until they begin classes. The breakdown includes scholarship and non-scholarship players and signees who have not yet enrolled. Additions and subtractions to the roster could be made before fall camp begins in late summer.
