UAB Announces 2025 FootbalL Schedule

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA - February 28, 2025

The path has been set for Trent Dilfer’s third season as the UAB football coach. UAB gets an early American Athletic Conference start on the road, has a pair of byes in the first nine weeks and will play host to the Battle for the Bones once again. Those are some of the highlights of the 2025 schedule, which was released on Friday.

The Blazers open the season with a Thursday night at game against Alabama State at Protective Stadium on Aug. 28. Nine days later, the Blazers begin AAC play a road game against a Navy team that finished 10-3 with a win over Oklahoma in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl and return standout quarterback Blake Horvath.

Navy is one of seven opponents  who played in a bowl in 2024. Navy is one of three bowl opponent road games for UAB, joining Tennessee and UConn. UAB home games against bowl opponents come against Army, Memphis, USF and North Texas.

The Battle for the Bones rivalry game against Memphis will be played on Oct. 18 at Protective Stadium. Memphis has won both games since the revival of the rivalry in 2023.

Game times and TV information will be released at a later date.
